A little about us!

I dove right in with my ramblings & just now realized that I have not told much about us & our 'outlook'.  My DH was the catalist to our journey.  He encouraged me to HS our oldest & while I did it 'kicking & screaming' here we still are 13 years later!  I have tried many homeschool philosophies:  School at home(total flop!), Charlotte Mason, Unschooling & Classical!  While the first was a total flop(for many reasons!) the rest have worked for at least one member of our household:)  I really learned a lot more about kids & learning styles these past 13 years.  What works for one child DOES NOT work for another!  Every year has brought new challenges & 'ah-ha moments'.  SO now when people ask how do you school my response is "I am a Classical Unschooling Charlotte Masoner and proud of it!"

Spring Break

Spring Break for many is coming to a close.  We spent our week building a playhouse for the younger set.  Lots of math & PE for us this week LOL!  Measuring, cutting, lifting, planning & being outdoors!   I have always thought that life was a learning experince & I hope that my kids share that with their kids later in life.  Life won't look much different for us next week except that there won't be as much hammering;)  One of the many joys of homeschooling!

Life with 6 kids

I can honestly say that I never expected to be 40 & a 13 year homeschool veteran with 6 amazing kids:)  I figured I would be dancing on Broadway or a Dr in private practice not learning how to read for the 6th time!  Not only am I learning to read, I am leaning to talk for the 7th time(most will say that is was too easy for me the first time LOL!), getting ready for college for the 2nd time, and learning to drive for the 3rd time.  I have also learned more history & science than I got the first time!
